A long history runs through the Star Bar building, originally constructed from convict brick in the 1800s, the Heritage listed facade has welcomed many a weary traveler. The Star bar was relaunched in 1991 after extensive renovations. Sir Joh Bjelke Peterson opened the night by cooking the very first pizza in the imported Italian wood fire pizza oven.
Through a number of owners the 'Star Bar' has been a main stay in Launceston, running for over 16 years; with current owner Mr Michael Acquarola purchasing the Star Bar in February 2007.
